Our Nursing Home in Belfast - John Bailie
I believe the most important aspect of care in Orchard House nursing home Belfast is the people we employ to look after our residents. We pride ourselves in employing people who enjoy caring for the elderly, and have a nice warm and friendly manner. From Gina, our Manager (who has been with us since we opened and is a fully qualified nurse) to our handyman and gardener everyone must be kind, caring and thoughtful to anyone that lives in Orchard House.

Gina ensures, with the use of the most recent computer packages, that excellent care is provided and is meticulously recorded so that all our nursing staff are fully aware of the treatment/medication applicable to each individual. All our care assistants work closely with the qualified nurses to ensure the very best care is delivered to each individual as required.
Maria (who has also been with us since we opened), and is the Administrator at Orchard House, is responsible for ensuring the housekeeper Janet and her staff, along with the in-house laundry staff, keep our Nursing Home in Belfast clean, tidy and well maintained, paying particular attention to ensure the environment is odour free.
We use our senior care assistants to provide constant monitoring of the care provided. Their duties also include ensuring all areas of the home are maintained to the highest standards. They advise management of all repairs, maintenance and improvements required and these are attended to as a matter of urgency.
We do have a Nursing Home Resident’s Charter and this ensures that all suggestions and ideas put forward by our residents are considered and implemented if they are thought to be for the benefit of all the Orchard House Family.
This is your home from home.
Running a Nursing Home - Anna Bailie
I believe that we must continually redecorate all of our rooms so that the ambiance remains as good as when we opened some 20 years ago. I regularly walk through the home with Gina or Maria noting any particular areas that I feel should be attended to and arrange the work required as necessary.
The cleanliness of Orchard House Nursing Home Belfast is something I am very particular about and feel that our housekeeper Janet and her team do a marvelous job.
I have every confidence in our cook Michele who has been employed by us for over 14 years.
I know that I would happily enjoy any of the meals, which are prepared by her and her staff on a daily basis.
We also arrange entertainment and party nights throughout the year and the spread put on by Michelle and her staff on these occasions is marvelous.
I would be happy to have any of my relatives live in Orchard House.
Working at our Nursing Home in Belfast - Gemma McVeigh (nee Bailie)
I have been working in Orchard House Belfast since my schooldays, firstly as a domestic assistant, kitchen assistant and more recently as an assistant to Maria in Administration. I have always enjoyed working in the Nursing Home and know that our family and indeed the staff at Orchard House put the care of our residents above everything else.
Gina has been the Nurse Manager since we opened and I know she is a really caring person as well as a highly qualified nurse. Maria like all our staff is a really happy friendly person and working in Orchard Hose is something I enjoy and look forward to. The Cherryvalley area is a truly beautiful location for a nursing home in Belfast.
